Maria & Lukas

Together with our children, we have built a place where we would most like to spend our own holidays. That is not a turn of phrase — it is the reason behind a few decisions you would not notice from the outside.

Lukas is a carpenter. He likes working with timber that still has its scent, and he built the apartments the way he would live himself: solid timber, natural stone, clay plaster, insulation from renewable materials.

Maria bakes, tends the garden and keeps everything running. What is on the breakfast table in the morning was usually still growing outside, or standing in the kitchen, the day before.

Why sleep and air matter so much to us

We spend roughly a third of our lives in bed. It seemed pointless to us to cut corners on two things that decide how you feel on holiday: how you lie, and what you breathe.

That is why clay plaster instead of emulsion paint. That is why a sleep system you can adjust, rather than a mattress that is the same for everyone. We look forward to meeting you.
